Frequently asked questions

Will the fonts look the same in the PDF?
In most cases yes. Common fonts like Arial, Times New Roman, and Calibri are embedded during conversion. Unusual or custom-installed fonts may substitute to the nearest available font.
Can I convert a password-protected Word document?
Password-protected Word files must be unlocked before conversion. Open the file in Word, remove the password via the Review or File menu, save, and then upload.
Is there a file size limit?
Files up to 50 MB are supported. For very large documents with many embedded images, consider compressing the images in Word before converting.
Does the converted PDF retain clickable hyperlinks?
Yes. Hyperlinks in the Word document (both web URLs and internal document links) are preserved in the converted PDF. Clicking a link in the PDF opens the target URL in the browser. Internal links (like a table of contents that jumps to a heading) are also preserved as PDF bookmarks.
Can I convert a Word document with tracked changes to PDF?
If you want the PDF to show tracked changes markup, accept no changes before converting and the markup will appear. If you want a clean PDF showing the accepted final text, use Word's 'Accept All Changes' option before uploading. The converter preserves whatever state the document is in at upload time.
Why does the converted PDF look slightly different from my Word document?
Minor differences can occur when Word uses fonts not installed on the conversion server (LibreOffice is used for rendering). The converter substitutes the nearest available font, which can shift line breaks by a few pixels. For the most accurate conversion, use common fonts like Arial, Times New Roman, Calibri, or Helvetica in your document.
