Editorial Policy & How We Test Tools

Last Updated: May 29, 2026

ImageAndPDF.com publishes guides, comparisons, and how-to articles to help people work with PDFs, images, and documents. This page explains the standards behind that content and the tools we build, so you know how to weigh what you read here.

Who Writes Our Content

Content is produced and reviewed under the direction of Kummari Achyuth, Founder & Software Engineer of ImageAndPDF.com. Kummari Achyuth is a software engineer and the founder of ImageAndPDF. He started the project after running into the same frustration most people meet with online file tools — uploads to unknown servers, daily limits, watermarks, and signups before any work could be done. His response was to build a suite of utilities that run almost entirely in the browser, using open-source libraries like pdf-lib, PDF.js, and ONNX Runtime, so files never have to leave the device for most operations. He works primarily on the platform's performance and privacy architecture: the rendering pipeline, the in-browser processing pathways, and the on-device AI models for background removal and image upscaling. You can read more on our About page.

How We Research & Write

Every guide is grounded in hands-on use of the tools and workflows it describes. We write step-by-step instructions based on the actual interface and behavior of the software, test each step ourselves, and capture real results rather than theoretical ones. We aim for clear, accurate, jargon-free explanations that a non-technical reader can follow.

How We Test Tools

When we recommend or compare tools — including our own — we evaluate them against consistent criteria: whether the output is correct (page counts, selectable text, no blank pages, no quality loss), how fast and reliable the process is, what it costs, what data leaves your device, and how easy it is to use. For comparison articles we disclose the criteria we used so you can judge the conclusions for yourself.

Use of AI

Some of our tools use on-device AI models (for example, background removal and image upscaling) that run in your browser — your files are not sent to a server for these features. AI may also assist in drafting article content, but every published article is reviewed and edited by a human for accuracy before it goes live. We do not publish unedited, machine-generated content.

Accuracy & Corrections

Software changes, and so do our articles. We review and update guides as interfaces and best practices evolve, and we note when an article was last reviewed. If you spot an error, email us at ask.achyuthkumar@gmail.com and we will correct it.

Independence & Advertising

We may display advertising (see our Cookie Policy), but advertising never determines our editorial conclusions. Recommendations reflect our honest assessment of what works best for the reader.
