What is Bank Statement to CSV?
Convert your bank statement PDFs into clean, structured CSV files instantly. For free. Paste in a statement from DBS, OCBC, UOB, Chase, HSBC, Maybank, Bank of America, and 15+ other banks and get back a neatly organised spreadsheet with date, description, and amount columns ready for budgeting, accounting, or tax filing.
Why use this tool?
Smart bank detection automatically identifies your bank from the PDF layout. No manual selection needed. Supports credit and debit statements from 20+ banks across the US, UK, Singapore, Canada, and Australia. Outputs a standard CSV with Date, Description, Amount, and Bank columns. **Financial-data handling (audit-disclosed).** The PDF is uploaded over HTTPS to our Hetzner Cloud backend (Germany, GDPR jurisdiction), parsed by pdfplumber + per-bank regex extractors, returned as CSV, and the source PDF + CSV are deleted within 1 hour. We do not log statement contents, account numbers, balances, or transaction details — only the file byte size and processing duration. We do not share parsed data with third parties, do not retain CSV outputs after download, and do not use statements for model training. For workflows where files must never leave your device (corporate policy, compliance), use a desktop tool such as pdfplumber locally; we publish the equivalent CLI in our open-source repo.
Common use cases
Use when you need to import transactions into Excel, Google Sheets, QuickBooks, or any accounting software. Also ideal for creating a spending overview, reconciling accounts, or preparing data for a tax return. Without tedious manual re-entry.

Frequently asked questions
- Which banks are supported?
- DBS/POSB, OCBC, UOB, Maybank, Standard Chartered, HSBC, Chase, Bank of America, Citibank, Capital One, Schwab, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), Scotiabank, TD Canada Trust, BMO, CIBC, US Bank, and more. For unrecognised banks, a generic parser extracts any date-description-amount pattern found in the text.
- Is my financial data safe?
- Files are processed on our Hetzner backend in Germany (GDPR jurisdiction) over HTTPS, then both the PDF and the generated CSV are deleted within 1 hour. We never log statement contents, account numbers, balances, or transaction details — only the file size and processing duration for rate-limiting. We do not share data with third parties and do not use statements for model training. If your workflow forbids any upload (corporate policy, regulated industries), run an equivalent extraction locally with pdfplumber from PyPI — same library, same parser shape, no upload.
- How accurate is the parsing?
- Accuracy depends on the bank. Statements from DBS/POSB, OCBC, UOB, Chase, Bank of America, and HSBC parse with >99% transaction-line accuracy in our test corpus. Generic-parser results on unknown layouts are ~80-90% accurate and may misparse rows with multi-line descriptions, foreign-currency conversions, or non-Latin scripts. Always review the CSV before relying on it for tax filing or accounting reconciliation; numbers in the CSV are extracted as text and must be validated against the source statement.
- My PDF is password-protected. What do I do?
- Remove the password first using our free Unlock PDF tool, then upload the unlocked file to this converter.
- The amounts look wrong. Why?
- Some banks use non-standard date or amount formatting. If the auto-detected bank shows as "Generic", the regex parser may misparse edge-case rows. Open the CSV, review flagged rows, and manually correct any outliers.
- Can I convert multiple statements at once?
- Yes. Upload up to 10 PDF statements in one batch. Transactions from all files are merged into a single CSV, with a Bank column identifying the source of each row.
