Frequently asked questions
- Can I add a logo as a watermark?
- Yes. Upload any PNG or JPG image (PNG with transparency works best) and position it as a watermark with adjustable opacity.
- Will the watermark appear when the PDF is printed?
- Yes. The watermark is embedded in the PDF content and will appear in both digital viewing and printed copies.
- Can I watermark specific pages only?
- Yes. You can apply the watermark to all pages, odd pages, even pages, or a custom page range. This is useful for marking only the content pages of a report while leaving the cover clean, or adding a 'Draft' stamp to just the first few pages.
- What opacity should I use for a professional watermark?
- For a diagonal text watermark like 'CONFIDENTIAL', 20–30% opacity is the standard professional range — visible enough to deter copying but not so heavy it obscures the content. For a logo watermark in a corner, 40–60% works well. Avoid 100% opacity for text watermarks as it makes the document nearly unreadable.
- Can I rotate the watermark text diagonally?
- Yes. You can set any rotation angle from 0° to 360°. The classic diagonal watermark uses 45° or –45°. A diagonal orientation is harder to crop out than a horizontal or vertical one, making it more effective as a security measure.
- Is it possible to remove a watermark added by this tool?
- Watermarks added by this tool are embedded as a content layer in the PDF. While technically removable with advanced PDF editing software, the process is time-consuming and impractical for casual users. For maximum protection, use a diagonal full-page text watermark at 30–40% opacity covering the key content area.
